Training.apple.com
How can Apple enthusiasts and technology professionals get publicly recognized for their skillset? Is there a way to promote evangelizing their skills with others? I teamed up with the Technical Training team to produce a platform for developers, IT, and creatives to receive the necessary training to be able to call themselves Apple-certified.
With me as the sole designer, we set out to create a website to guide visitors towards both virtual and in-person courses for potential participants to demonstrate their expertise, master the technology, and share knowledge with others.
The Goal
To organize and simplify the wealth of information surrounding a new Apple-certified training platform, where professionals can find relevant courses and programs, and ultimately earn recognition for their skills.
The Solution
As is common with most of our product launches, I designed a long-scrolling landing page to introduce our product offerings. I used Apple’s standard design system guidelines to provide a cohesive look to the page hosted on Apple’s main website. Each introduction of a new theme was paired with a punchy tagline and curated photography to grab the visitor’s attention, and promote our courses, programs, and digital recognition.
The courses and programs pages broke down each complex offering into easily digestible information. And, the organization of the site paired with the humanized language showed users how these trainings could be beneficial, not just to their careers, but their personal growth.
We also guided visitors towards available courses revolving around mastering varied topics like Apple operating systems, editing, and development tools. And, while these course offerings were necessary in helping expand Apple knowledge, the Technical Training team also had a mission to evangelize that learning. I designed the Programs page to encourage Apple enthusiasts to continue to spread that knowledge, which we offered through our host partner, LearnQuest.
After completing a LearnQuest course or program, the participant was awarded a digital Acclaim badge, which they could share publicly via LinkedIn and other professional platforms.
The Outcome
As of today, there are thousands of Apple-badged ambassadors recognized all around the world, who proudly display their proficiency badges online as both a sign of their training, and their ability to pass down institutional Apple knowledge.
